Frequently Asked Questions
Can I go skiing or snow shoeing?
Saint Laurent en Royans is situated at the base of the mountains at 300m altitude. It’s the perfect location to enjoy the warmer weather in winter and still go skiing if you desire. The Valence side of the Vercors offers smaller, quieter ski resorts, with a forus on nordic skining. You can go skiing at Herboilly, Presles or Font d’Urle, which are a 30 minute drive away. I can lend you some pairs of snowshoes if you wish.
Can i go running, cycling hiking directly from the house ?
Yes, you can. After two years in Saint Laurent en Royans, i am still discovering new tracks and routes. I will be happy to give you some routes so that you can enjoy your stay. I also have maps to lend you so that you can plan your own trips.
How do i get there by public transport?
Saint Laurent en Royans is well situated but it is advised to have or rent a car. It is 15 minutes from the A49 motorway, 30 minutes from Valence TGV, 45 minutes from Grenoble-Isère airport and 70 minutes from Lyon St-Exubery airport by car. It is possible to order a transfer by taxi but it is expensive (French taxis always are ;-). There is a bus from Valence/Valence TGV and also a ski bus during the Christmas and February school holidays.
